In a move that would encourage the late night commuters in Guwahati, the Assam State Transport Corporation is introducing night services across the city from Thursday. ASTC officials told Assam Times that the corporation initially is running 20 on three arterial routes from 8 at night.
“Our buses will ply on the Khanapara round trip covering Panbazar, Adabari, Basistha Chariali while another route will cover from Jalukbari to Khanapara via Adabari-Uzanbazar-Ganeshguri. The third route will cover from the Forest Gate to ISBT via Noonmati, Uzanbazar, Jalukbari,” said an ASTC official. The fares against the night bus service would be 50 per cent more than the existing fare of city buses.
