ABSU long march

The influential All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has again kicked off its long march for total revolution to creating peace, justice and development among society here at Kajigaon ground under Parbatjhora subdivision in the district on Wednesday. 

It was organised by Kokrajhar district unit of the students union where hundreds of student activists and volunteers took part from various parts of the district. 

The march will be covered up over 130 villages under four anchalik committees of Parbatjhora subdivision which will be concluded on November 3 at Tipkai where they will be holding meeting with villagers to discuss on the several issues like education, social integration, social development, listening, discussing, planning and working to meet total revolution in the region. 

Lawrence Islary, General Secretary of ABSU attending the inaugural of the march said that the students union has been organising long march since 2013 to meet good living, healthy society, development and working for integration in thd region. He said that the common publics are facing lots of hardships in several fronts of social aspects like education, health, communication due to non initiatives from government. 

'The long march was organised to creating awareness about educational, social upliftment, economic sustainable steps among common publics through bringing of total revolution in the area', Islary said. 

The march will meet villagers in close contact where they would talk with villagers on core issues of education, economic sustainable, social security, stop of superstition, equal distribution and rights,  he said adding that society should get equal distribution and rights to the front of social security. 

Jadav Pegu, SDO Parbatjhora graced the ceremony as chief guest and flagged off the march in the presence of peace brigade and public. He has lauded the initiative taken from the students union to the greater interest of social upliftment and development among common masses. 

'It is a innovative and necessary step to build a healthy situation taking from the students union among society'. He has expressed his confidence that common society will get social change and integration through the long march. 

An awareness meeting in connection with long march was also organised earlier of the day with Janak Ujir, vice president of the Kokrajhar district unit ABSU on the chair. 

Sahitya Academy awarded Janil Kumar Brahma, noted social worker Niranjan Brahma, several organisation leaders were prominent attendies who were present on the day.

Bodo sabha session from Jan 21 in Chirang

Boro women's forum withdraws from BNC

The Boro Women's Justice Forum (BWJF)  president Anjali Daimary has resigned from secretary of Bodo National Conference (BNC), an umbrella organization of Bodo organizations and also declared withdrawal of membership from the conference.  Daimary, in a press release said that the forum hold its central executive meeting today at Barama of Baksa district where forum has decided to withdraw membership of BNC, besides she herself too resigned as one of secretary of the BNC citating that the conference has not been functioning effectively for the last nine months . Power tiller distributed

Former minister and MLA Pramila Rani Brahma and BTC executive member for Agriculture department Ansumwi Khunggur Boro ceremonially dsitributed Power Tiller under Rastriya Krishi Vikash Yojana(RKVY) of 2014-15 among beneficiaries at a function held at Agriculture training hall in Kokrajhar on Wednesday. MLA Brahma handed over key and materials of the Power Tiller to 12 beneficiaries of Kokrajhar district in its inaugural, who were given away on subsidiary manner to facilitate agricultural products in the region. Student missing

A class IX student of Dotma High School, who has been went missing since January 5 last has yet  to trace out till now. Accotding to family source,the student identified as Ranen Brahma(13),son of Bipul Mahan Brahma of Shymdarpara,went missing since January 5 when after visit to school and since then no any information whereabout was reached so far. An FIR has been lodged with Dotma PS in this regard. Family has been searched him at all their relatives,yet could not find out.The family members requested to contact at 09678777109 if anybody found or see him. 

NDFB-S cadre arrested

Chirang police under overall guided by BTAD (IGP) LR Bishnoi and Chirang SP able to arrest a cadre of NDFB-S from Do lagoon area under Dealing a on PS on Wednesday morning in Chirang district.  The arrested cadre was identified as Leith Narzary@Lafa, was a senior section commander of Kokrajhar platoon and member of 33rd batch. He joined the outfit organization in 2007.  He was a wanted cadre of NIA, wax involved with Adivasi carnage at Ultapani of December, 2014.  A pistol, magazine and 148 ammunition of AK 56 were recovered from his possession. 

ABSU condemns attack on students

The All Bodo students Union (ABSU) expresses deep concerned and strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Bacha Khan University, Peshawar of Pakistan today at noon. PM Modi assures more development for BTAD

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured for more  development commitment for BTAD including upgradation to Deemed University of Kokrajhar based Central Institute of Technology (CIT), granting of Scheduled Tribes (Hills) status to Bodo Kochary, who are living in Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao districts of Assam.
