Daizy Basumatary crowned Miss Haina with winning in the Bodoland Fashion Hunt Miss Haina, 2016. This is the first ever in Bodoland as well Lower Assam region, has been organized by Nexus Entertainment at Bodofa Cultural complex on Sunday in Kokrajhar. She was awarded cash Rs. 25,000 along with crown and citation.
Sikha Dutta Brahma and Priyangka Basumatary were adjusted first runners up and second runners up and awarded cash Rs. 20,000 and Rs.15,000 respectively. Dansy Rani Basumatary and Nandita Basumatary were adjusted as Miss Photogenic and Miss Personality in the show.

The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU), Kokrajhar district unit felicitated the toppers and first division holder students in Bodo medium in recent declared HSLC examination at a function held at Bodofa House on Tuesday in Kokrajhar.

A suspected NDFB cadre (Ranjan Daimary faction) was beaten to death by public mob today at Bagargaon under Bijni police station in Chirang when he was coming to take extortion demand money.
Acording to source,NDFB cadre come with a Pulsar bike to take extortion demand money from a Kalamuddin Sheik at Bagargaon village this afternoon around 1.30 pm while villagers gheraoed him and beaten to death.The mob has also set blazed the bike. Sources claimed that the cadre was identified himself as Pranjit Boro while demanded Rs. 5 lakh from a person in a mobile call.

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Hagrama Mohilary urges to maintain peace and harmony among all section of society as there is apprehension of mistrust in the aftermath of election.
Mohilary has convened a meeting with the intellectuals and senior citizens on Friday at PWD Guest House at Kokrajhar to discuss the situation about the growing mistrust among the Bodos and non-Bodos pertaining to the election.

Police arrested four youths for involving with stolen of computers from Dhawliguri ITI,Kokrajhar which was recovered on Wednesday from North Shukanjhora under Kokrajhar police station.
The computers of the ITI were stolen by thefts on last May 7 and the concern office had lodged an FIR with police and investing the incident police manage to apprehend the involved culprits on Thursday, said a senior police officer in Kokrajhar.
