Poll-related violence at Dimakuchi

Sensation has been prevaling in Udalguri district following the cold blooded murder of a tea garden labour. One Ravi Baiga(35) of Suwala Tea estate  died after he was attacked with Dao by miscreants. Another Kaliga Gour (45) has survived the attack. The incident occurred on the night of Monday last. A team of police led by SDPO Bhergaon Pranjal Bora immediately rushed the spot and took stock of the situation. Following the incident on Tuesday more than two hundred tea garden labours took to streets shouting slogans 'Hagrama Mahillary Go back' , 'Stop attrocities on Adivadis" etc; 

Adivasi student bodies have condemned the killings and termed the incident as political killings. And threatened of dare consequences if such attrocities on innocent tea tribe people takes place near future. It is also learned that both the persons were supporters of an Independent candidate contesting  election from Panery LAC.

Udalguri:  A court in Udalguri has sentenced five people to life imprisonment for the 2017 murder of Sahid Jamal in Kalaigaon. District and Sessions Judge N.
