Kokrajhar District Wushu Association is organising All Assam Wushu Championship, 2016 beginning from July 22 at KDSA stadium in Kokrajhar district. The event is being participated by 700 participants and officials.
Speaking Assam Times on Thursday at KDSA stadium, Jubiraj Basumatary, secretary of Organizing Comiittee of the championship told that the championship will be hosting XIII sub junior, junior and XX senior male & female competition for three day's programme scheduled . He told that championship will be highlighting various disciplines of the Wushu games. Most of the participating districts have so far reached in Kokrajhar and expected that participants will presented their best performance in the event, he said.
Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner will inaugurate the championship attending aschief guest on Friday.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar. The incident occurred along ride no. 1 under the Jharbari range of the Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district, where the smuggler was fatally shot while transporting logs on a cycle from deep within the forest.
