Couple held for trafficking
A couple was apprehended from Karigaon under Kokrajhar PS for allegedly human trafficking cases by Nedan NGO and AASAA activists on Wednesday.
According to police,the couple was arrested when they reach along with trafficked girl to return her at Karigaon,who trafficked girl in October last year.
The couple was identified as Ramesh Yadav and Chumki Murmu,hailed from Islampur of Dinajpur of West Bengal state.The couple has been involved with human trafficking from the region since few years back, a NGO activist in Kokrajhar.
‘Interrogation is on them and expected more inputs about trafficking will become out’, said an AASAA activist.

KOKRAJHAR:The security forces deployed in the counter insurgency operation in BTAD areas claimed to have eliminated yet anotherNDFB-S rebel in Chirang on Monday. According to what the authority says the rebel was killed at an encounter which took place in Shantipur near Runikhata bordering Bhutan. The rebel has yet to be identified and some arms and ammunition were believed to have been seized from his possession.

'BTC administration is preparing to rehabilitatein Bodoland those evicted settlers in Amchang if Chief Minister gives his consent. Talking to reporters, BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary said the eviction in the Amchang wild life sanctuary was conducted under strict guide lines of law.
