Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

Many student bodies in Kokrajhar took out a huge rally in Friday demanding CBI probe into the killing of Lafikul Islam Ahmed which took place 18 days ago. Post flood watery grave for 5

 A pall of gloom descends in Kokrajhar when five children met watery grave in the district in the post flood scene during that last 24 hours.  All the minor boys  were drowned in two different villages in Gosaaigaon circle . Kokrajhar College observes foundation day

The Kokrajhar Government College observed its 59th foundation day with day long programme scheduled at College conference hall on Wednesday. BTC deputy chief Khampa Borgayari attended thr function as chief guest who lit the lamp to inaugurate the function. 120 metre long national flag

In a move that evokes widespread response, Science College flashed a 120 metre long national tricolour flag to mark the national freedom day.  A rally was organized along with the National Flag, which was started from college complex via Santinagar, DC Road, fly over and concluded at the beginning point. Marginal let up in Kokrajhar flood

There seems some let up in the flood situation in Kokrajhar district on Monday where six people died snd nearly 1 lakh rendered homeless. The water level of the major rivers seems to have shown a receding trend from the afternoon and if this trend continues, the flood waters would recede gradually. But many relief camps are said to have fallen short of materials to accommodate the affected people who were evacuated to the relief camps'. Flood death toll 6 in Kokrajhar

At least six persons reportedly dies, including a couple and one is went missing in flood fury in Kokrajhar district till Saturday.
