NDFB (S) informer held

Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

Former Assam Minister Siddique Ali Ahmed expresses suspects the role of rebels in ceasefire behind the killing of Lafikul Islam Ahmed. But the Congress leader refused to name the rebels who killed the ABMSU leader in Kokrajhar. Siddique told reporters when he visited Ahmed’s bereaved family members on Thursday. Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi lashed-ouit at the BJP-led state government for their failure to provide safety and security to people of the state. He demanded CBI inquiry into the Lafikul killing. At least sixteen persons received serious injuries due to lightening at two different villages under Gurubasha police outpost in Chirang district late last evening. According to source from the area, sixteen persons received injuries for heavy thunder and lightning yesterday afternoon. The All Bodoland Minority Students’ Union President, Lafikul Islam Ahmed was shot dead Tuesday evening at Titaguri bazaar in Kokrajhar. The incident took place at about 4:30 pm when two helmet bearing armed miscreants on a bike shot at Ahmed from point blank range when he was in a tiles shop.
