Rock Climbing Adventures Training camp at Bhuneswar

With the view to find Mount Everest Expedite team by 2019 next from BTAD region, a Rock Climbing Adventures Training camp which has been kicked off from Saturday at Bhuneswar Hill near Dangtal in Chirang district was organized by Adventure NGO, Kokrajhar in association with Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA).

Altogether 30 participants from four districts of BTAD region participated in the three-day training camp to impart training rock climbing, and hill trekking. Learned instructors and experts from Assam Mountaineering Association Prithiraj Narzary taught participants on various aspect and ways about rock climbing and hill trekking during training camp.

Participated lauded the initiative for training which will be benefiting for interested students. Instructor told that they have been imparting training on water sports, rock climbing, hills trekking during camp; besides preparing to find out mount Everest expedite team from BTAD region.

Prithiraj Narzary, training instructor said this adventure training camp was organized to impart training on rock climbing, hill trekking under joint venture from Assam Mountaineering Association and Adventures NGO.

‘We hope, a Mount Everest Expedite team wound be come up by 2019 next from BTAD area. This is a beginning point in this juncture. Rock climbing and hills trekking is an adventure amusement in the sporting arena through which coming up generation can earn knowledge and information about mountaineering’,Narzary added.

Mananjay Daimary, president of the Adventure NGO,Kokrajhar told that the camp is second edition which has been organized to bring sports influence among coming up generations. The camp has been paved way to find out Mount Everest expedite team in 2019 next, which has been started from this season. We have been trying to haunt sports talents, who are talents among society. The training camp would be concluded on August 29 at Baukhungri Hills with hills trekking training in Kokrajhar district.

“It is an initiative to bring sports influence among coming up generations in mountaineering adventure. During the camp, training on rock climbing, hill trekking was trained along the Hills. A Mount Everest Expedite team from BTAD would be sent by 2019 for which why training camp has been stressed with stern steps”,Daimary said.

Sal logs seized

KOKRAJHAR: Forest department in Chirang, seized several numbers of tractors and trucks which were carrying illeglly felling sal timbers from Selekaguri, Shantipur, Deosri area under Runikata forest range on Thursday in Chirang district. The seized timbers are kept now at Runikata forest range office. Recently,forest department officials have seized a large number of smuggling timbers at Kachugaon in Kokrajhar district. The seized timbers  are valued at Rs.20. The forest department has been taking stern measures to check timber smuggling in the region and necessary deployments are made so far, said a senior forest official in BTAD.  

Journalism workshop in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Sangbadik Parishad, Assam of Kokrajhar district unit has decided to organise an workshop on journalism and a medical camp in October in Kokrajhar district. An executive meeting of the parishad was held on Thursday at Kokrajhar Press Club with Hantigiri Narzary, president of the Kokrajhar district unit of the parishad in the chair. The meeting discussed at length on the welfare and security of the journalists in the state and decided to work for the welfare and uplift of the media fraternities. Buyer-seller meet held

KOKRAJHAR: A buyer-seller meet was organized at Girls College auditorium hall in  Kokrajhar on Thursday. The meet was organized under the Assam agricultural business rural transportation (APART) by project ATMA Kokrajhar. The meet has emphasized to build a healthy co-relation among buyer and sellers while bringing fruitful business opportunities in the marketing field in BTAD region. Nodal officer, Mudiram Patari told that the meet is stressing to gain good relationship among buyer and sellers in the region. BTC director of Agricultural MM Swargiary attended the event.

Bangladeshi students take admission in Kokrajhar colleges

KOKRAJHAR: Six students from Bangladesh took admissin in various educational institutes in Kokrajhar. The students are from Khagrachhari ditsrict of Bangladesh and belong to the Bodo community. The students offered their Bathou prayer at Bathou Thansali and expressed happiness fro their forthcoming academic journey in Kokrajhar. One drowns at Hell River

A 17-year-old youth has died and another his colleague was rescued after drowning at Hell River at Fakiragram in Kokrajhar. The incident took place on Sunday evening at Dhopertal village along the Hell River. The duo hailed from Maligaon Guwahati visited their reltives house at Fakiragram. They went to the Hell River to have a bath in the afternoon and met the mishap. Local police and SDRF team rushed the spot after the incident recovered one body and another one rescued. Kokrajhar: The Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) and Bodo community recalled contributions of Subungthini Thandwi Bineswar Brahma, former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, and his contribution towards upliftmentof the Bodo literary and language; on his 19th death anniversary at his burial place at Chandamari in Kokrajhar on Monday. The anniversary was organized under the aegis of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) in association with Bineswar Brahma Charitable Trust to mark the occasion. Bineswar Brahma remembered

Bodo sahitya sabha and Bodo peoples remembered former president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha late Bineswar Brahma on his 19th death anniversary on Monday at his burial place Chandamari in Kokrajhar. Brahma was shot by armed militant cadres at his Bhetapara residence in Guwahati in 2000. On his anniversary,BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary,Assam Social welfare minister Pramila Rani Brahma,Bodo sahitya sabha president Toren Boro,ABSU leader Lawrence Islary and several members paid floral tribute to Brahma and recalled his contributions.
