BJP govt facing floor test

The stage is set for N Biren Singh and his government in Manipur to face the floor test on Monday.
BJP leadership in Manipur told Assam Times that they were just expecting a formal announcement adding that they would be able to clear it.

“We don’t have anything to be worried. We have numbers since NPP, NPF are our coalition partners apart from TMC and independent not to speak of the Congress legislator who joined us,” said a party leader.
A Congress legislator has been keeping the party’s 27 legislators at his house to prevent BJP from poaching them who would go to the floor test together.

On the other hand, BJP is keeping 17 newly elected MLAs at a hotel in Guwahati apprehending horse trading by Congress.

Congress got 28 seats falling short of three seats to form the government while BJP got 21 seats. But it managed the numbers with 8 NPP and NPF legislators apart from one each from NPP, NPF, TMC, LJP. The lone independent candidate also took the side of BJP. In a dramatic development, one of the Congress legislators Shyam Kumar suddenly joined BJP.
