TANGLA: Nearly two thousand disciples of Thakur Anukulchandra from various parts of the state thronged Satsang Vihar in Tangla on Sunday to mark the 31st Foundation Day.
 Apart from religious songs and prayers throughout the day, a discussion on Thakur’s philosophy and universal peace was also held on the occasion.

 Retired Principal of V.B.P High School,Kopati, Pradip Malakar presided over the function flanked by Dr. N.C Mitra who delivered sermon on the ocassion.

“Satsang Vihar is a movement that promotes amity and tolerance among people, irrespective of their religious affiliations. Thakur's philosophy on the values of humanity is extremely relevant in today's world," Pradip Malakar said.
The Tangla Satsang Vihar was inaugurated by Acharya Dev Sri Sri Dada way back in March 1987.

A Mysterious incident was reported where three girls went missing from Dhansirighat of Orang under Udalguri district on Saturday. 5th death anniversary of Dr Bhupen Hazarika observed

Along with the rest of the state the fifth death  anniversary of the Bard of Brahmaputra, Dr Bhupen Hazarika was observed at Tangla and Kalaigaon on Saturday. At Tangla HS field candles were lighted by educationist Binoy Kr. Medhi which was followed by floral tributes by public .An art competition and Bhupendra Sangeet competition was also held among childrens.  All faiths community prayer and Naam-Kirtan, Lok-Sangeets were also performed. Chaath Puja bengins

Chhath puja the festival dedicated to Sun God (Surya) would be observed on riverbanks and near other water bodies on November 6 and 7 at Tangla where devotees will pay obeisance to the setting and rising Sun for sustaining life on earth. Along with other parts of the country, devotees will throng the Nonai and Naika river banks in the town on Sunday evening and Monday morning with wicker baskets filled with offerings to Sun God and Chhathi Maiya, the Goddess who is worshipped during the festival. Udalguri Police have reportedly launched a crackdown in the district against rampant "extortion by NDFB (S) cadres based on numerous complaints by buisiness man,VCDC chairman,contractors. Bhergaon Atheletics Club clinched victory in the 2nd Bishnu Rabha Memorial Football Championship  Trophy organized by Arunjyoti Sangha,Kacharital at the outskirts of Tangla  in its play ground. Maheswar Boro MLA Kalaigaon inagurated the final match.The final match was played between Bhergaon Atheletics Club and 15 brothers footballclub Harisinga on Sunday.The game was over with 0-0.
