RAHA: A dreaded dacoit died and another sustained serious injury when a gang war took place in Nagaon on Sunday.

The incident took place at Nagabandha in the wee hours where a group of armed dacoits were travelling on a vehicle. As they reached Juria suddenly they spotted another gang and started gun firing at each other. 

Identified as Jonab Ali, an infamous died on the spot while another sustained serious injury who is fighting to survive at the hospital. Then both the groups vanished from the spot. Police investigation is going on.

NAGAON: People thronged in thousands at Nehrubali in Nagaon town demanding Justice for the minor girl in Dhing whom three miscreants gangraped and burnt alive two days back. The entire gathering demanded immediate arrest of the main culprit Zakir Hussain, who is still on the run while two other arrested perpetrators are juvenile. Speakers after speakers in the crowd demanded capital punishment for the perpetrators saying that this measure is the only way to firmly deal with these raising cases of rape and murder. NAGAON: Amid an escalating shock and anger an irate mob vandalized the residence of Zakir Hussain a day after he led the gang who raped and burnt alive a minor girl at Lalung gaon in Batadrawa on Friday. Gangrape and murder rerun in Nagaon

NAGAON: In yet another bizarre incident, miscreants burnt alive a minor girl after being gangraped in Nagaon district sending huge shock and anger across the state on Friday. The gruesome incident took place in Bordua where the miscreants in Dhaniabheti gaon gangraped the minor girl inside her home in the absence of her parents and later set her on fire by pouring kerosene and fled. Later local residents came to her rescue and rushed her to the hospital where she was declared brought dead. Dacoit hurt in police firing, dead

RAHA:An infamous robber died in Nagaon hours after he sustained injury as he was trying to escape police during an operation on Friday. Two of his associates were captured.The incident took place in the wee hours at Mohghuli area where a gang of dacoits was trying to strike forcing the police to step in. Police captured two of them while others fled and one of them was shot at as police opened fire at him for trying to escape in the wee hours.Identified as Ramjan Ali, he was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to injuries in the morning. RAHA , March 13 :  The 12 hr Assam Bandh called by Tribal organisations of Assam  from 5 am today in protest against the government's failure to fill up vacant posts reserved for Scheduled Tribes ended  in the evening heavily affecting the normal life in Raha. Absconding jail inmate held in Raha

RAHA: Police in Raha have caught Ratul Nath on Friday two days after the inmate in the Jorhat Central Jail vanished under mysterious circumstances. Ratul, a murder convict was held in the morning hours after he reached his home. He confessed to have escaped from the jail and reached Dergaon on foot and then he boarded on a truck to reach Raha who police arrested against to send back to Jorhat.
