Namrup: Local BJP leaders and workers took out a procession in Namrup on Tuesday to celebrate the party’s Good performance in the Karnataka assembly polls where it fell only a couple of seats to get absolute majority.
The mood at the local party office is upbeat and the party men took out the procession as they kept watching the television sets beaming the steep rise in the party’s poll performance on the counting day.

BJP state executive member Ranjit Boruah said , " we are  happy to say that  our party is getting good response in the southern state ." Namrup Booth BJP Provery Bhabha Gogoi , Namrup Town Committee Chairman  Neetu Sonowal Buragohain , BJP District Morcha Secretary  Ankur Phukan were prominent among those who joined  the celebration .

Namrup: Namrup erupts in more protest on Monday when hundreds of local AASU activists took out a bike rally opposing The Citizenship (Amendment)  Bill. 2016 . Naga rebels caught in Namtula

Namrup: Upper Assam has become a safe den for a section of rebel elements who often keep mongering trouble in many areas. Apart from ULFA-I rebels, some NSCN(U) activists have been moving in Charaideo district forcing the security forces to step in.The security forces arrested two Naga rebels during a combing operation in the district on Sunday we hours. Namrup: More than 1000 people took to the streets in Namrup on Saturday as the  All Assam Tai  Ahom Student Union organized a torch rally opposing the Citizenship(Amendment) Bill, 2016. Shouting slogans the protestors warned the government not to proceed with the deal. Namrup AGP on signature campaign

Namrup: The local AGP leaders and workers in Namrup are on a massive signature campaign against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (2016) that promises citizenship to the non Muslim immigrants. Hardcore ULFA(I) rebel held

Namrup: Despite an intensive counter insurgency operation, a section of  ULFA-I rebels have been moving in Dibrugarh district unleashing the fear of yet another Kujupathar like gunbattle where a police officer was killed.   Security forces apprehended a dreaded ULFA(I) rebel during a combing operation in the upper Assam district on Tuesday who is believed to have made some stunning revelation during interrogation.   Acting on a specific input, Army’s 9th Raj Rifle jawans and police launched a vigorous search operation an operation at Kachmari Hatigarh in Barbarua area where Dipanjit Handique alias Tejushree Asom was captured.
