Senior Congress leader Ripun Bora has assumed charge as Assam Pradesh Congress Committee’s interim president a couple of weeks after president Anjan Dutta died of illness in New Delhi. Amid a state wide brouhaha on the move to auction 12 oil fields in Assam, both AGP and BJP have been taking contradictory positions on the sensitive issue. BJP leaders and ministers have strongly advocated the move saying that it would, in fact, help Assam claim the rights over its own resources. “We are bound to endorse the move. We can’t oppose it.
