Senior Congress leader Ripun Bora has assumed charge as Assam Pradesh Congress Committee’s interim president a couple of weeks after president Anjan Dutta died of illness in New Delhi.
Party high command in Delhi appointed Bora as interim president which is believed to be a chance for the Rajya Sabha MP to prove his organizational skill.
“If the things within the poll-hit party start improving the high command is contemplating to confirm his appointment as PCC president. Before the move, the high command got positive feedback from former chief minister Tarun Gogoi who is said to be closed to the former minister,” AICC sources said.
