Celebrating Freedom: The 79th Independence Day in Nazira

The 79th Independence Day was a momentous occasion at Nazira, marked by grand celebrations and a deep sense of patriotism. The Nazira Co-District Administration organized the central program at the Nazira District Sports Association's playground, where Smt. Kanika, Commissioner of Nazira Co-District, hoisted the national flag as the chief guest. This solemn ceremony was a reminder of the country's struggle for independence and the sacrifices made by its freedom fighters.

Before the flag hoisting ceremony, the Commissioner paid homage to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence at the Gandhi Maidan. This poignant gesture served as a reminder of the country's rich history and the importance of honoring its heroes.
The parade that followed was a testament to the discipline and patriotism of the students and police personnel who participated in it. The students from various schools of Nazira showcased their marching skills, while the police and paramilitary forces demonstrated their professionalism and commitment to the country's security. The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya's NCC team won the first prize in the parade, followed by the Nazira College NCC team in second place and the Nazira Higher Secondary Multipurpose School NCC team in third place.

The event also provided an opportunity to recognize and reward individuals who have excelled in various fields. During the main event, 44 individuals were felicitated by the Co-District Administration for their outstanding contributions. The winners of various competitions held on the occasion of Independence Day were also awarded prizes, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The celebrations were attended by Debabrata Saikia, MLA of Nazira constituency, senior officials of various departments, employees, police administration and a large number of local residents. 

In a separate event, hundreds of E-Rickshaw drivers participated in a massive E-Rickshaw rally in Nazira town on the occasion of Independence Day. This rally was a unique and innovative way to celebrate the country's independence, highlighting the importance of community participation and inclusivity.

On the other hand on the occation of the Independence Day Nazira Town Block Congress  committee organised a Tiranga Rally at Nazira Town .
