HC to take up bail pleas of 2 MLAs on March 30

The Gauhati High Court has fixed March 30 as the next date for hearing the bail petitions by MLAs Jiten Gogoi and Kushal Duwari in connection with the recent alleged assault on a Kaziranga forest officer.

Hearing the bail petitions on Monday, a division bench of Gauhati High Court headed by Justice H N Sarma, asked the Bokakhat police station to submit the case diary pertaining to the complaint lodged by the forest officer D Boro. Both the MLAs are reportedly absconding.

Notably, the legislators recently physically assaulted forest officer Dharanidhar Boro at the national park after being denied permission for fishing.
