Foundation of Kalaigaon Press Club building laid

The foundation of kalaigaon Press Club building was laid on October 25 at a simple ceremony. Media persons in and around Kalaigaon have expressed satisfaction at the start of the construction works.Maheswar Baro,MLA,Kalaigaon LAC formally laid the foundation of the of the proposed two stroied press club building at the heart of the town well attended by most of all the members of the press club beside dignitaries and well wishers.Speaking on the occasion Maheswar Baro assured media persons of Kalaigaon that he would do his best for ensuring basic amenities to media persons of the rural areas. It needs mention that an amount of rupees two lakhs had been allotted from the LAD fund of Maheswar Baro for the construction of the Kalaigaon press club building. He also appealed the scribes to be impartial in publishing news items as it could create much impact on sthe society


Imran Hussain, president, Kalaigaon Press Clubin his welcome speech thanked all for their kind cooperation and help.He said that the proposed press club building would help the local scribes to a great extent. Jagadish Sarkar,Chairman Kalaigaon TCLCC also spoke a few words on the occasion and assured that improvement of the infrastructures of Kalaigaon town would be given priority.The ceremony was also addressed by Dandi ram Rabha,MCLA,BTC; Khitish Baro; Kami Ram Saharia etc.

A minor girl dead and dozen others fell ill after they consumed prasad served at a religious function in Udalguri district on Friday. The tragic incident took place in Kalaigaon area where a ten year old girl died early in the morning. At least 71 others have complained of stomach ace and vomitting hours after they consumed prasad. The deceased was identified as Dipsikha Nath who died at the Mangaldai Civil Hospital. Talking to media, ADC DN Hazariaka said that the incident took place hours after they consumed prasad at the house of Harakanta Nath on Wednesday.
