Another barn owl has been rescued at Kalaigaon on February 25. According to information one Yasin Ali,inhabitant of No.2 Kalaigaon had found a stranded barn owl near his house at 2 PM and kept it inside his house to be sold in black market. Acting on a tip off, Habibur Rahman, OC, Kalaigaon PS along with Nakul Barua and Milan Sarma rescued the bird from the house. The bird was later handed over forest officials at Kalaigaon Police Station in presence of Brajen Bora,Cicrle Inspector of police and other media persons. Forest officer Bharat Deka in association with an few media persons found out the nest and family of the bird near Kalaigaon Girls High School. Nature loving woman of Kalaigaon Bijuli Deka Das and forest officer Bharat Deka formally restored the bird to its nest at 7 PM. People of Kalaigaon thank Kalaigaon police station for showing interest in rescuing wild animals and birds. It needs mention that another barn owl and a python were rescued by Kalaigaon police in this month.
