PM concern over BTAD violence

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday expressed grave concern over the simmering communal tension in BTAD areas and called it is a major cause of worry for the entire country. Speaking to mediapersons on board to New Delhi from Tehran, he said that what worried him more was the ethnic clashes in Assam.


“When I look at the future of our country, the way things have gone in Assam, the ethnic tensions that have disturbed peace in Assam, that part of Assam which is in Bodoland territorial administration”, he said.

We know through newspapers and social workers that the riots in Assam are directed against Bangladeshi migrants who have illegally infiltrated and settled in Assam.But Dr. Singh who is country's Prime Minister calls these communal riots.It appears the PM is not aware of what is happening in this country country.God save this country with such an ignorant Prime Minister!

Preparation for ULFA-Govt talk gathers momentum on Wednesday. Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in Delhi. Sources told Assam Times that Gogoi met the home minister at 3 in the afternoon who assured him of all help required to ensure talk with ULFA. Gogoi formally urged Chidambaram to appoint former IB director PC Halder as the government interlocutor in the talk with ULFA. Halder has been interlocuting in the centre's talk with NSCN-IM.
