Sadhana Das passes away

Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

Choudhury , 53, lately used to contribute for various news portals and his focus area was insurgency in northeast India. A two-day flood mock drill has began from Thursday at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar which has been aiming to bring awareness about pre-flood situation among official and common masses in the district. The drill was organised by Kokrajhar Revenue Circle in collaboration with Kokrajhar district disaster management authority  where all line department official, employees of the government and NGO activist as well as citizens participated the drill. The explosion that left a man killed early in the morning in Dikom is an ULFA rebel. Identified as Boby Dohotiya, the rebel was killed as he was planting the bomb on the pipeline which suddenly exploded with a huge sound. One person died and five others sustained injury when suspected ULFA(I) rebels exploded a powerful bomb in Tinsukia district a day before prime minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sadiya. A huge joint team of army and Indian Air Force is believed to have reached Ashrabari along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh to recover the Sukhoi 30 which went missing on Tuesday with two pilots on board.
