Sadhana Das passes away

Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

Puja fever continues

Durga puja fever still grips Assam as the annual Hindu festival enters fourth day on Monday. Puja pendals in the nook and corner of the premier north eastern state are teeming with devotees of all ages who are offering pujas to the goddess of strength for peace and prosperity. Amid the sounds of hymns, drums and cymbals, the devotees started waiting in long queue in front of the goddess to seek her blessings from early in the morning. Cultural functions, music and drawing competitions are also lined up till Monday. The puja is concluding on Tuesday and the idols would be immersed on the rivers and water bodies.

Kaziranga adds new feature

Kaziranga has added a new feature on its cap when the famed abode of one horn rhino found place in KLM flight. Wildlife week concludes

The 62nd wildlife week concluded at Rajiv Gandhi Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve on Friday. The concluding day of the programme was attended by noted veterinary surgeon Dr Kushal Sarma, HoD, Surgery, College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara.
