3 accidents: 8 dead

Amid Bhugali bihu festivity at least eight persons were killed and 10 others have been injured in three different road mishaps on Tuesday wee hours.
In a shocking mishap, four policemen were killed when the Scorpio vehicle carrying them collided head with a truck in Laluk in the wee hours. Three others have been battling for life in GMCH.
The second mishap took place in Bogionadi where a Tata Mobile vehicle carrying 13 people turned turtle on the road early in the morning where 2 died on the spot while eight others injured have been rushed to the hospital.
In yet another accident 2 people were killed as an Indigo vehicle rammed into a bike in Hajo early in the morning. The bike duo died on the spot.

A CID team probing the multi crore scam in the agriculture department questioned director to extract more information on Tuesday. The five member CID team questioned director Juri Phukan for a couple of hours relating to the anomalies' in fertilizer  seed procurement and distribution. They further sought some crucial files at the Krishi Bhawan to carry out the probe into the Rs 700 crore scam which took place during the erstwhile Congress government. CID had already arrested a few officers and contractors in this connection.
An AASU delegation net chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday in New Delhi a day before the tripartite talks on the implementation of the Assam Accord. Chief minister Sarbanabda Sonowal on Tuesday assured a delegation of six ethnic groups of sympathetic consideration of their demand for ST status a day after they openly raised doubt over the government intention. Amid an attempt to settle the vexed Bodoland issue through negotiation, an independent non Boro MP from BTAD area have dared the government to hold plebiscite  to ascertain the veracity of the decade old demands. Despite round-the-click vigil, the poachers in Kaziranga struck again for horn in the national park. Forest guards the famed abode of one horn rhinos found a carcass of the one horn animal in the Agoratoli range on Saturday. The animal was believed to gave been killed two or three years back and took away the horn. This the third rhino poaching case in the world heritage site this year.

The Dibrugah police on Saturday arrested a youth a day after he threaten to kill Zubeen Garg who was arriving his hone town and performed for nearly three hours.
