Businessman kidnapped

Suspected NDFB-S militants unleashed a reign of terror in Chirang district when they kidnapped a businessman from Runikhata on Tuesday.

Sources told Assam Times that identified as Anup Das, the 40 year old businessman was kidnapped at gunpoint from his residence in the afternoon.

Search operation is in progress to trace out him. But nobody has so far given the family members any clue. The entire area has been witnessing incidents of murder, kidnap and extortion by the Bodo militant outfit at regular intervals.
