Tension seems to have been escalating further in Sonitpur on Sunday a day after 4 more bodies of missing villagers were found.
Apprehending breakdown in law and order situation, the district administration has clamped curfew in Borgang and Bedeti areas after protesters clashed with police in the afternoon.
The clash broke out when police tried to disperse thousands of people who blocked the roads leading to Arunachal Pradesh in protest against the failure to arrest the Chaudhuwa massacre.
The protesters set on fire Arunachal Pradesh bound vehicles of security forces. Even they did not spare the vehicle of a judge who was on his way to work place.
Then police resorted to lathichage, tear gas and blank firing to disperse the protestors.
Notably, at least 15 villagers were killed by miscreants in Arunachal Pradesh in Chauldhuwa reserve forest on January 28. Eleven bodies were recovered in the forest and the state government assured the protestors of steps to bring the culprits to book. But that has not happened. Four bodies were recovered on Saturday to ignited the anger against the neighbouring state.
