Cycle rally organised on World Malaria Day
A students' cycle rally was organised to observe World Malaria Day on Saturday at Debargaon in Kokrajhar district. The rally was flag off by Kanan Basumatary, principal of Debargaon HS School, was organised jointly by National Vector Borne Disease Controll Programme(DVBDCP), Kokrajhar district and Voluntary Health Association, a NGO working on health sector beginning from Debargaon HS School complex and rally enroute to Debargaon village, Diajijiri, Balajan and concluded at same point.
The students with banner, placards participated the rally and shared awareness building while eradication of malaria among human life. The organisers also host a signature campaign on bringing awareness about malaria disease in the district.
Bimal Pradhan, district consultant of DVBDCP, Kokrajhar said that there were over one thousand malaria positive were recorded from Lungsung area under Balajan PHC last year and district malaria office had stepped for controlling the diseases in the district and diseases was declined.
He said that the DVBDCP, Kokrajhar has been organizing servilance camp at Saraibail, Pakalogi and held awareness meeting where malaria testing was also conducted in the district on the part of world malaria day observation,he said adding that 10 positive of malaria were found in the testing held at Saraibil and Pakalogi yesterday.He has expressed his confident that malaria disease would be eradicate in the district through stern measures as concern department is stressing to stop spread of malaria.
