Journalists' Union convention concluded

The 19th annual convention of Journalists' Union of Assam (JUA) was concluded after two day colorful programme scheduled here at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar today. 


Sabina Inderjit, vice president of Indian Journalists Union and executive member of International Federation of Journalists graced as chief guest on the open session. 


Sabina, in her speech said that the  journalists should take strong step while highlighting national spirit of building a healthy atmosphere through their writings. They (journalists) should not be fear whatever reporting authentic in their professionalism career, she said. 


BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary inaugurated the open session. He said that that media men should come forward to the healthy integration as well national spirits. 


MLA and former minister Pramila Rani Brahma, Madhav Prasad Sarma, DC Kokrajhar, Shymal Pasad Saikia, SP Kokrajhar, Margaretza Boni Koska, professor & editor and adviser to Poland government, were among others prominent attendees and addressed the meeting with Geetartha Pathak, president of JUA, in the chair.


A new state committee of JUA was formed where Geethartha Pathak retained as president and Prabhat Pathak as secretary for next two years tenure in the delegate session of the convention. 


Earlier of the day, Geethartha Pathak hoisted JUA flag, Monalisa Sarma, preudent of  Kokrajhar district JUA  and Ajit Kumar Basunatary, president Kokrajhar Press Club hoisted flags of district JUA and press club respectively.
