Navodaya Jatiya Vidyalaya, a Guwahati based school had organised a career awareness programme on Saturday for its students along with parents and teachers. This was organised to provide more information on various career opportunities available for the students. Ranjan K Baruah of North East Youth Foundation was the resource person in the career programme. He focused on various career opportunities and skills needed for the private sector apart from government opportunities. “We must follow our passion and choose career accordingly so that we can earn and at the same time contribute for the social transformation in the society”, he mentioned. He had appealed the participating parents that one must prepare for job but that does not mean that one should keep trying for only government job as private jobs and taking up entrepreneurship are other alternates to be successful in life. There was interaction, activities with students after the talk which made the programme more vibrant. Importance of attitude, life skills, communication skills, etc apart from qualification were stressed to become successful in life.
