Normal life continues to remain disrupted in Karbi Anglong district following the 1,000 hour bandh called by Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State from Monday. But the agitating body has yet to receive any response from the Centre. Vehicular movement refuses to resume on the National Highway under the impact of the bandh called in protest against the delay in announcing the dates for next round of talks. Shops and markets, schools and colleges are remaining closed. Only a few banks are functioning in the hill district. Offices have recorded negligible attendance on Monday and Tuesday. The bandh is total so far and there is no report of any untoward incident in Karbi Anglong district. The 1000-hour bandh however, has hardly any impact in Dima Hasao district till Tuesday. JACAS further demands a bill regarding creation of a separate state during the forthcoming Winter Session of the Parliament.
