Amid the statewide 12 hour Assam bandh the authorities have stepped up security measures to ensure peace and normalcy on Friday. Bajrang Dal called the bandh in protest against the AIUDF's alleged links with jihadi and terror outfits in Bangladesh.
Security forces are patrolling on the roads while additional forces have deployed in the vulnerable areas to prevent any untoward incident. Trains and flight services are, however, are running without any change in the schedule from early this morning.
