Siddique fate hangs in balance

A strict disciplinary action seems imminent against Siddique Ali Ahmed as the Congress MLA has only a day to substantiate the allegation against chief minister Tarun Gogoi on the recent Dimapur incident.

. Reliable sources close to the dissident MLA claimed that the former minister had no such evidence with him. According to sources, Siddique is doing all these at the instance of a former minister who has been dead opposed to Tarun Gogoi as chief minister.

The minister whom the chief minister dropped because of dissidence is believed to have left it to his master to take the next course of action against Gogoi.

On the other hand, AICC disciplinary committee’s ultimatum for Siddique to clear his position is expiring on Wednesday.

Party sources told Assam Times that unclear, unauthentic, unacceptable proof to substantiate the allegations would force the party leadership to suspend him from the party.

Notably, Siddique Ali Ahmed on Sunday blamed it all on Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for Syed Farid Khan’s death in Dimapur. He said that Faird could have been saved had chief minister took up the matter with his Nagaland counterpart after he was informed of the possible move of the mob to drag out Farid from jail to be lynched on the street.
