Assams Lakhimpur District. Around 10,000 illegal Bagladeshi immigrants moved out of Arunachal Pradesh today and landed in Assam. The move is widely supported by the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
The Government of Assam has not commented on this till now. It is felt in Lakhimpur that the Goverment will only keep silent on the issue and Lakhimpur will be hard pressed to deal with this problem.

At this rate, one day whole of NE will become a part of Bangladesh. Assam and North Bengal are the ones which are hit badly by the influx of Bangladeshis. Soon, the indigeneous people of Assam and North Bengal would be in minority.
In a powerful bomb blast one 5 year old child Alima Khatun (age 5) was died on the spot at Koilagaon under Bijni Amguri in Chirang District at around 12:20 PM on 29-04-08. Alima was playing along with the other children in front a house after they arrived from their schools while that tragic incident took place. In this incident three minor childrens Kismat Ali (7), Chandrabhan (10) and Rashid Ali (12) has been injured seriously. Peace negotiator and writer Mamoni Roisom Goswami is hopeful of reviving the peace process while she called on Assam Governor Lt General (Retd) Ajoy Kumar Singh on Tuesday evening. Peace broker and award winning writer Indira Goswami will call on Assam Governor Lt general retd) Ajoy Kumar Singh on Tuesday in a bid to carry forward the peace process in view of ULFA’s recent willingness for talks.According to information, the former professor of Delhi University who has been trying to ensure government-ULFA negotiation will hold talk with the Governor at around 6-30 in the evening at the Raj Bhawan.ULFA supreme Paresh Baruah expressed his willingness to carry forward the peace process when he talked to Dr Goswami over telephone on April 14.
