Road accident at NH 31

There occurred a road accident in  between Kendukona and Baihata today at about 11.15 pm. A Mini-pickup van( ASO1-EC9015) collided with a standing Ultra Super bus (AS14-C 5399).The pickup van with the driver and his co-assistant were in peak speed and they lost control and rammed into the standing bus. Fortunately the driver didn't received a single scratch. The local public and commuters should be lauded for their efforts for the driver to get out of the damaged Van.No injury or casualities of life was reported.

UDALGURI: The Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance of newspaper reports of the alleged incident of police atrocities on a doctor in Chirang district on Friday.  AHRC has issued a notice to the District Magistrate, Chirang  to cause an inquiry into the incident where media reports stated that the Officer-in-Charge of Amguri PS in Chirang District not only assaulted Dr. Madhurjya Kakati, in-charge of the Amteka Mini PHC but also made him to kneel down along with two  others for not wearing masks. TANGLA: A  devastating inferno gutted six houses in Pujakhola locality of Tangla town on Tuesday night at about 9 pm. UDALGURI: A baby hog deer weighing about six kilogram was rescued by  Mithu Sarkar and Ankit Tanti, two activists of Green Valley Wild Life Protection Society, an NGO of Orongajuli tea estate area today at about 3.00 pm and handed over this to the Udalguri forest department in a healthy condition. While talking to this correspondent, Mithu Sarksr informed that the NGO has been instrumental to rescue young ones of hog deers, wild elephants, tiger cubs in the near past too and till date, it has been able to rescue such animals which came to their notice.
