BP unified with BPF

In a well gesture of party strength of BPF ahead assembly election in Bodoland region of Assam, a grand unification of BPPF with BPF under the leadership of Rabiram Narzary, president of BPPF was held on SUnday at Tulungapuri Dotma if Lower Assam's Kokrajhar district. 

Narzary, was accompanied party general secretary and thousands of party activists and supporters, declared party's unified with BPF to create more development and unity among society in the region.  He said that his party come into unified to meet healthy and integrated through working of peace and prosperity. 

Hagrama Mohilary, BPF supremo and BTC chief, party MP, MLA, senior party leaders were also present on the unification function. 

It is to be noted that both Narzary and Mohilary factionised in BPPF and BPF party in 2005 after signing historical Bodo Accord in 2003. 

Mohilary has welcome Rabiram Narzary and party members in the meeting said that now his party become a grand unified. He also said that his party will score good result in the assembly election

Huge arms recovered in Baksa

Security forces have claimed that three hardcore cadres of NDFB-S along three linkmen were arrested and huge cache of arms were also recovered from Salbari area of Baksa district today. Security forces belonging to Assam Police and Army carried out a search operation at Salbari area this morning and manage to recovered huge arms of the NDFB-S members which are kept inside a room of Baksa district, said a senior police officer. 

Awareness meeting on speed limit of motor vehicles

An awareness meeting on speed limit of motor vehicles involving motor transport association, senior citizens and public was held at DC office conference hall on Monday in Kokrajhar. The meeting was organised by district administration in association with district transport officer (DTO) with Madhab Prasad Sharma in the chair to creating awareness about road speed management along the national highways and district major roads in the state. Sharma said that considering the increasing the number of road accidents in the state of Assam and in the interest of public safety, the Governor of Assam is pleased to fix maximum speed limit for all classes of motor vehicles on the state...

Linkmen arrested in Kokrajhar

 Police arrested two NDFB-S linkmen from Jordanpur under Serfanguri Police of Kokrajhar district late last evening. Police said that duo were involved extortion since long days and were arrested by police. The arrested were identified as June Basumatary and Mausrang Basumatary of Jordanpur village. A pistol, one magazine, six round bullets, two hand grenades recovered from their possession. 

Former BLT chairman remembered

Bir Chilagang Basumatary, founder chairman of now defunct  Bodo Liberation Tiger (BLT), who revolt with arms for the separate state of Bodoland within India was remembered on his 18th death anniversary at his burial place Bir Chilagang Puri at Bongshigaon today in Kokrajhar.Irrespective of organization, party and local people thronged to paid floral tribute at the  emetery of Basumatary at Bongshigaon,was organized by Bir Chilagang Martyrs Tomb Development Committee, Bongshigaon of Kokrajhar district.Ramani Basumatary, widow of Basumatary paid rich floral tribute to the tomb followed leaders from various organisations. Barhoongka AC defeats Guwahati FC

Barhoongka AC Kokrajhar defeated Guwahati FC in the Assam State Premier League being played on Saturday at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar. Newsonkom of Guwahati FC netted first goal against Barhoongka in 31 minutes and led the match 1-0 goal in first half. In the second half, Barhoongka boys Pabitra Narzary and Lamington Toutang  scored one each goal against Guwahati in 62 and 82 minutes respectively and won the match.

Basugaon temple damaged in tremor

The entrance gate of an ancient temple was lost partially damaged when a moderate earthquke jolted Basugaon along with other parts of lower Assam.One of the stone made lions installed at the entrance gate of the Gauri temple collpased under the impact of the moderate earthquake on Sunday.Local residents came out in large numbers to escape the death when the building were shaking. Thousands of local people went to the temple premises to see the damaged walls.             

Tremor: 2 hurt in Kokrajhar

Two people sustained injury when a wall collpased under the impact of the moderat earthquke on Sunday morning.The quake was felt at .37 in the morning striking no less panic among the people forcing them to come out of the buldings.Marks of crack arep spotted in many buildings in Kokrajhar ara after the earthquake. There is no report of any loss in any parts of the district.

ABSU warns indefinite hunger strike

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has warned for indefinite hunger strike if state and centre govt fail to distribute NRC form in Bodo language within June.The students union staged two-hours sit in demonstration demanding NRC form in Bodo language in front of DC office beginning from  11 am today in Kokrajhar.The demonstrators shouted slogans with banner, play cards demanding justice with distributing NRC form in Bodo language and justice of constitutional rights to the Bodo peoples.The students union submitted a memorandum to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh through Kokrajhar deputy commissioner demnading early issue of NRC forms in Bodo language and extens helping hand to fill up...
