Election awareness programme

While the Assam assembly election is round the corner the Chirang district administration conducted an awareness programme on the instriuction of the election commission for the political parties and candidates during election process.

The programme chaired by DC Rupak Muzumdar and DEO was held at DC conference hall for making aware of the political parties and candidates on the subject related to election Expenditure and Model code of conduct to be taken care off before filling of the nomination papers from the date of nomination to the declaration of the results and after declaration of results.

The DC interacted with representative of political parties on the present political scenario in the district and heard their grievances and feedbacks for taking necessary action. In this regard he asked the political parties to be felt free to call the district administration for any kind of problems regarding security issues, election preparedness, violation of MCC etc.

He assured to extend all possible help to them for smooth, free and fair conduct of the election in the district. Earlier he informed the house about the ongoing updation of electoral rolls, SVEEP activities, arrival of new EVMs, setting up of compliant cell and the present status of all the 245 polling stations of the 31-Sidli(ST) LAC.

Chirang Additional SP Taburam Pegu informed about the adequate security position in the district and the plan prepared for election.

The meeting as attended by all heads of department, representatives for various political parties like Congres, BPF and AIUDF.
