Udalguri district administration ready to polls
Udalguri district administration of Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) is all set to conduct the scheduled first phase of Assam assembly election for three constituencies slated to be held on April 4.
A total of 26 candidates are in fray to contesting the assembly election in three LACs that all kinds of preparation and arrangements have so far completed to conduct the election.
Nine candidates are in fray to contest in 64-Panery LAC-Kamali Basumatary(BPF),Durga Das Boro(INC),Swarnalat Chaliha(SUCI),Nandaram Boro(UPP),Dinanath Das(Independent),Prabhat Das Panika(Independent),Dikan Chandra Deka (Independent) and Mahesh Chandra Sarma(Independent).
In 69-Udalguri LAC,six candidates are in fray,included Jamansingh Brahma(INC),Rihan Daimary(BPF),Anjali Prabha Daimary((Independent),Dilip Kumar Boro(UPP),Bipul Narzary((Independent) nad Santash Madahi((Independent).
Eleven candidates are in fray to contest in 70-Mazbat LAC-Charan Boro(BPF),Teharu Gour(AIUDF),Raphael Kujur(INC),Baldev Chouhan(LJP),Abul Quasim((Independent),Girish Chandra(Independent),Manaj Kumar Tamuli(Independent),Rabindra Basumatary(UPP),Lal Soren(Independent),Sunil Sarkar(Independent) and Swapna Dey(Independent).
A grand bike rally was organised by UPP party at Tangla area in support of UPP candidate for Panery LAC Nandaram Boro on the last day of campaigning,besides candidates of parties and Independent candidates also hold their last campaigns in the respective LACs on the last day of campaigning.

A total of 45 people of Mukuldang No. 1 (Harinpur) village were rescued on Wednesday by Fire and Emergency Services under Gossaigaon sub-division in the district. KOKRAJHAR: A 55 year old person identified as one Bhaidhya Oraon,who was reportedly drowned at Hel River was recovered at Singimari village under Fakiragram PS in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.The incident took place at Singimari village on Monday evening. A joint team of police, SDRF and local people started search operation to fish out the body since early morning and retrieved the body. The person was missing after he went for fishing. The family members of the deceased identified the body which was later sent for post-mortem.
