New ANM training school at Tangla

Rihan Daimary,State Cabinet Minister PHE ,Food and Civil Supply layed foundation stone of Ramesh Ch Saharia ANM Training School at Tangla in presence of Kamali Basumatary ,MLA Panery LAC on Saturday .In this connection an open meeting was held in the conference hall of RC Saharia Teacher Training College ,Tangla.Mridula Saharia,the former MLA of Panery LAC presided over the meeting.Dr Harakanta Das Ex Medical Health Officer explained the objective of the meeting.Rihan Daimary the minister of PHE ,Food and Civil Supply attended the meeting as chief guest. Delivering the inagural speech Mridula Sahariah said "We feel elated that my husband late RC Sahariah dreamt of such institution in the area,and we are turning his dreams into reality. Expressing her gratitude to Minister Rihon Daimary and Panery MLA Kamali Basumatary she said they have represented their constituencies since 2001.She also expressed her gratitude to the media persons of the area.

Speaking on the ocassion Rihon Daimari said " RC Sahariah trust has taken up commendable works in the area fom B.ED College,Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology(D.M.L.T) courses and ANM training school are first of the kind in the district. Daimary also said that due to poverty our students can not pursue such courses. He further assured that he will discuss the matter with BTC Chief Hagrama Mahillary to help some students from WPT scheme to get financial help. He also stressed on need of Skill development programmes in the district.Referring to the flood scenario he said" I visited the Nalbari, Chirang,Udalguri district.Hundreds of acres of lands are inundated under water. Long term plannings are needed to tackle flood. Condemning in strict words the Kokrajhar incident. Daimary said"In the multi-ethnic multi-culture society of ours people needs to remain united to prevail peace and fraternity of brotherhood in the society."

Kamali Basumatary MLA Panery LAC said " ANM nursing has a wide career opportunities. Earlier students of these areas had to travel to far flung place to pursue such courses. I am thankful to RC Sahariah Trust for taking up such institute in Tangla. The MLA recalled her youthhood days when RC Sahariah was MLA of Panery LAC,and she visited the MLA at Dispur MLA Hostel. I am thankful to the people as I have been voted to power for the fourth consecutive term. We should abolish violence,Kokrajhar incident is condemning people were killed like anything else. Unemployment is the greatest issue I feel that needs to be solved said Basumatary.

"We are quite hopeful that BJP alliance government will bring development to the state". She also assured of projects of potable drinking water to the people of greater Tangla area. Rihan Daimary,State Cabinet Minister PHE ,Food and Civil Supply and Panery MLA Kamali Basumatary were also felicitated on the ocassion with Japi,Phulam Gamocha,seleng chador and packet of books.

UDALGURI: The Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance of newspaper reports of the alleged incident of police atrocities on a doctor in Chirang district on Friday.  AHRC has issued a notice to the District Magistrate, Chirang  to cause an inquiry into the incident where media reports stated that the Officer-in-Charge of Amguri PS in Chirang District not only assaulted Dr. Madhurjya Kakati, in-charge of the Amteka Mini PHC but also made him to kneel down along with two  others for not wearing masks. TANGLA: A  devastating inferno gutted six houses in Pujakhola locality of Tangla town on Tuesday night at about 9 pm. UDALGURI: A baby hog deer weighing about six kilogram was rescued by  Mithu Sarkar and Ankit Tanti, two activists of Green Valley Wild Life Protection Society, an NGO of Orongajuli tea estate area today at about 3.00 pm and handed over this to the Udalguri forest department in a healthy condition.
