NDFB (S) informer held

Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

Thunderstruck kills 1,left 2 injuries

At least two persons died and two others received serious injuries due to thunderstorm struck in lower Assam's Chirang and Barpeta districts on Sunday. A 16 year old girl died and two others received serious injuries of a family at a remote village due to thunderstruck in Chirang district. A heavy thunderstorm and rain at around 4.30 in the afternoon which claimed a student of class X student of Bishdowa village, Panbari in Chirang district. Kokrajhar is all set for upcoming Lok Sabha election on April 23 next as Election Commission of India (ECI)  announced dates of the election on Sunday.
