NDFB (S) informer held

Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

Free Yoga camp from Nov 21 in Kokrajhar

Preparations are going in full swing to organise a three-day free Yoga treatment and meditation camp in Kokrajhar beginning from November 21.  A reception committee(RC) with Rabiram Narzary as chairman and Derhasat Basumatary,ex-BTC executive member as secretary has been working overtime to make it a success.  Local residents are also gearing up for smooth functioning of the mega event at Green field near BTC Secretariat in Kokrajhar.The camp has been organised by Bharat Swabhiman,Patanjali Yog Samiti,Kokrajhar and being sponsored by BTC administration. RVA rebel held in Kokrajhar

 Security forces in Kokrajhar apprehended an ultra belonging to Rabha Vipers Army (RVA) from Kopati in Karigaon on Sunday. Based on inut about presence of RVA ultras, a joint team of Kazigaon police and 17 Dogra regiment caried out a search operation against the rebels where they arrested RVA ultra. Salbagan Football Club, Gossaigaon lifted the Kanakeswar Narzary Memorial Football Trophy defeating Sanswrang Sports Club, Serfanguri 3-0 goals in the final match at Ramfalbil Rupnath Brahma memorial ground in Kokrajhar on Friday. Injured elephant battling with death

An adult elephant is engaged in a grim battle with death at a pit in Gossaigaon after it sustained injury on Thursday. The animal in dire strait was spotted at Nandipur near Kachugaon forest division office in Kokrajhar district. According to eye witnesses, a herd of 4-5 elephant reached the Nandipur near Kachugaon division in thr wee hours in search of food across the paddy crops along the Kachugaon forest. Villagers busted firecrackers to disperse these deadly animal to protect the paddy field where one of the elephants was caught in a deep pit. Fire ravages house in Mushalpur

Properties worth several lakh were reduced to ashes when a massive fire broke out at a house at Bwrimukh in Mushalpur on Wednesday night. The fire originated from electric short circuit at the house of Buddadev Deka, a businessman in the locality by 1am late night. Local residents and a fire tender rushed the spot and doused the fire.
