Sister Margaret school turn 21 year in education services

The Sister Margaret Nobel School, Kokrajhar turned 21 years on Monday in it's educational services in greater Kokrajhar region. The school observed it's foundation day on Monday with daylong programme scheduled in Kokrajhar.

The school, which is private manage English medium school in Kokrajhar, was founded in 1995 and since then giving educational services among society in the region. The school has been run by Sister Margaret Education Trust, organized the foundation day with befitting manner. Nur Islam Paramanik, District Programme Manager of MISE, SSA, Kokrajhar graced as chief guest on the occasion. Paramanik said that the school is running well educational services in the region because huge students are getting higher education in this school. He has urged parents of children to be dedicated while reaching quality education.

P Dasgupta, principal of the school min his welcome address highlighted the quality education as well giving emphasizes of human resource development among society said that his school is giving good quality of education through involving qualified and learned teachers in the school. He has appealed parent and guardian of the students to be conscious while guarding their generations. He said that good educational situation bringing is the prime vision of the school.

Kalyan Gupta, trustee of the school, H Narzary, vice president, Kokrajhar Press Club were prominent attendees on the occasion. Students of the school showcase beautiful dance programme, which attracted participated parent and students.

A villager is battling with death at a hospital in Kokrajhar after he sustained serious injury in elephant attack. The incident took place in Lungsung forest where a wild elephant attacked him as he was collecting firewood in the forest. Baksa district beat Chirang district 2-0 goals to lift the trophy in the final match of the BTC -Army goodwill football premier league-2017 being held at SAI centre in Kokrajhar on Saturday. For Baksa, Golap Basumatary netted first goal in the initial 2nd minutes of the match against Chirang and led the match 1-0 in the first half. Again, Sanjib Deka of Baksa netted another goal in 80th minutes against Chirang which led the team to defeat 2-0 goals and lifted the trophy.

A community fishing drew no less joy on Tuesday at Samarpur Samoka River near Bishmuri in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday. Huindreds of people from all walks of life from different areas thronged at the River since early morning for fishing after the Samoka River Sluice Irrigation opened the water through irrigation project. Security forces claimed  to have arrested a NDFB-S rebel during a joint operation at Mandarguri area in Chirang district on Tuesday. Acting on a tip off,  input, army, police and para military forces carried out a joint search operation along the Indo-Bhutan border where the rebel was captured who was identified as Swmkwr Narzary @ N Sibilang. A road construction worker died and two others sustained serious injury when the rope of the crane engaged in the work breached at Musolpur in Bagsa district on Monday.  The incident took place in the evening where the workers were engaged with the road construction. Eye witness told Assam Times that the mishap took place when the crane hit upon the workers after the rope used in it breached because of technical snag. Identified as Gopesh Patgiri of Salbari, he died on thr spot while the two other injured have been undergoing treatment at the Nalbari hospital who were identified as Debojit Kalita and Amar Chetry.
