Policeman targets another record

An Assam police man is going to set yet another record that could  fetch no less pride for the state after clinching a few awards within a short spell of time.

He is none other than Manjit Dihingia. Dihingia, a 12th Assam Police Battalion Jawan in Jamugurihat is preparing for 25 hour marathon race with barefoot.

He would start the marathon race from Gohpur to Kusumtola and from Kusumyola. His success will break the 24 hour marathon race record by Abhijit Baruah in Jorhat.

Dihingia told Assam Times that he is busy with preparation to crack the success and that he has already obtained permission from the authority to allow him for the wonderful task.

Dihingia, who has already set a number of records by riding on bicycle without holding the handles keeping his hands busy with a traditional Assamese musical instruments from Gohpur town to Jamugurihat covering 80 km on August 21 last year.

Various local organizations and individuals have come out to support Dihingia who has set di records and brought four awards of international repute.
