Four persons died when a truck full of logs carrying them slipped into a ditch in Kamrup district bordering Meghalaya on Tuesday.
The shocking accident took place at Hahim in Boko where the logs fell on the four persons assoonas the truck met with the mishap. All of them died on the spot.
According to the local residents, the truck which was full of smuggled logs fell into the drain after the driver lost control over it.
Local residents and police rushed to the spot and took Sn hour to extricate the bodies. Police have registered a case to investigate it.

Yet another major explosion was averted when security forces recovered a huge bomb from a bus in the outskirt of Guwahati on Wednesday.Weighing around 5 kg, the powerful IED was recovered in Rangiya during a joint operation by police and CRPF team from the bus in the evening. Acting on a tip off, security forces halted the bus at Dalmagate on its way to Guwahati from Nalbari. Police recovered the IED from a vegetables bag inside the bus. Later, army’s bomb disposal squad arrived in the spot and the IED was defused.
After years of will-it-won’t-it, Guwahati resumed the bus service to Dhaka on Wednesday. PWD minister Ajanta Neog flagged off the bus on trial run to the neighbouring country at a brief function in Guwahati in the morning. The bus started the much-awaited journey via Shillong and Dawki border point in Meghalaya.
