GUWAHATI: KMSS is dead opposed to any public hearing on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in Delhi by the Joint Parlaimentary Committee and holds the BJP-led governments in state and Centre responsible for it.
Talking to reporters in Guwahati on Saturday, KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi said the joint parliamnetary panel has invited only a few selected party to the hearing in Delhi on April 12 only at the instance of Dispur which never wants his organization to depose before it.
“Since we are dead opposed to it so I have learnt that Dispur has not sent our name. Two years back when the panel was organizing it we were invited,”said Gogoi.
The KMSS leader said, “this is an attempt to ensure the passage of the Bill in question keeping Assam and its people in dark. We won’t allow it. The hearing is only a farce.”
The Sarbananda Sonowal Government, Narendra Modi Government, BJP, RSS would be answerable to the people of Assam, said Gogoi.
The Joint Parliamentary Panel set up to study the pulse of the people on the Bill is inviting as many as 12 organizations to depose before it on April 12 in the capital.
