Narayana Hospital to conduct free screening health camp for journos

Narayana Super-Specialty Hospital, Amingaon (north Guwahati) will conduct a free health camp for the member-journalists of Guwahati Press Club (GPC) along with their families on Saturday (12 January 2019). The daylong camp will be started by 10 am at newly launched Narayana Superspeciality Clinic (Near Ulubari KFC, Kacharibasti, Guwahati, helpline number- 8011242424) and get over by 2 pm.

The participants will be offered the facility of free RBS, ECG and Echo (if advised ) test and subsequent doctor consultations at the centre. One consultant relating to medicine will also be present at the camp.

The interested member-journalists are requested to arrive at the venue with the government recognized ic or GPC membership cards. Those should need further courses of medical attention will be offered concessional treatments at Narayana Super-Specialty Hospital, Amingaon.

Police seizes Ex-DGP’s revolvers

Police on Thursday seized two licensed revolvers from Shankar Baruah’s residence a day after the former DGP shot himself dead. According to police who carried out formal investigation on Thursday at his residence in Ujanbazar with the help of CID and FSL, he killed himself with one of the revolvers. The team collected fingerprints and one used cartridge of a .32-bore revolver apart from obtaining the photographic and videographic records of the spot. Police have seized two licensed revolvers from Barua’s residence, one of which had five live cartridges loaded in it. It is this .32 revolver that Barua is believed to have used to kill himself. Barua was among five persons whose houses were searched by the CBI connection with the Saradha chit fund scandal on August 28.

BPF condemned Padmabil incident

The BPF party strongly condemned and demanded inquiry into killing of Bishnu Boro,who was killed by unidentified miscreants at Padmabil village under Serfanguri PS on May 1 in Kokrajhar district.

Former BTC MCLA and president of Dotma block BPF committee Indra Mahan Brahma expressing serious concern over the incident termed that it was unfortunate incident in the area.He has denied the allegation levelled against him into incident from BTC MCLA Jyotirindra Brahma said that it was baseless allegation on him.He said that no any party member and activists was involved behind incident.

Brahma also demanded inquiry into incident and punish the involved culprits as per law,besides urging district administration to take stern step into incident.
