NDFB (S) informer held

Police apprehended a suspected over ground worker/sympathizer of NDFB-S identified as Paulina Basumatary 22, wife of a NDFB-S cadre Compounder alias Khaose from No 1 Nandipur village under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district .

Police said Rs 15,000 (extorted from Audung Bazar area) have been recovered from her possession which was supposed to be handed over to NDB-S cadre.

She was working as a channel of communication between the NDFB-S cadres and over ground worker in that area through her husband. She has been playing a very important role in siphoning off extortion money to the outfit in Myanmar through the OGWs/sympathisers.

Snake rescued in Kokrajhar

A rare species of Snake was rescued at Santinagar near Babyland school in Kokrajhar town this evening .The Snake was first noticed by public at a resident and later intimate to Snake experts Anup Sarkar,Ashit Paul and Suraj Battacharya which was rescued.The rare species of Snake was organge colour and brown on its physical structure.Snake experts identified as Orange Common Krait. Peoples gathered to see the rescued Snake.'This is seeing rare colour and species that rescued today in human habited area ', said snake expert Anup Sarkar.We noticed the Snake at a residence area this evening and rescued by experts, said a citizen at Santinagar.

5 extortionists held

Police arrested five persons for involved with extortions at Dholmara area under Salakati police outpost late night in Kokrajhar district. According to police, a gang of five members,who are moving near and far at various places in the state to extort money from common peoples by showing pretend of Hanuman Gold among citizens since last few months.  Following a case registered at Dispur PS, case registered no. 2748/17 U/S 120b/387IPC, Salakati police in association with Dispur police conducted a raid and search operation at Dholmara area in Kokrajhar late night and able to apprehend five accused persons.
