Joy of Christmas evening

The north eastern people residing in Delhi and NCR celebrated the Christmas evening with no less pomp and gaiety.

The Nagaland and Mizoram Bhawans in the capital have dressed afresh with colorful decoration of lights surrounding the Christmas trees.

The Nagaland House in Race Course area in the capital gets a different look with a huge crowd for midnight carol followed by special prayer on Sunday morning.

Same festivity grips the Meghalaya House premises which pulled huge crowd in the evening amid the colourful decoration of Christmas tree.

Manipuri Christian people also rushed to the Manipur House in the evening to participate in the carol and prayers.

“We are trying our best to celebrate the much vaunted occasion from this evening. Defying a pinching coldwave we are holding midnight carol on the occasion,” said a staff member who works in Meghalaya House.

“We are visiting the church tomorrow morning to attend the special prayer since we can't afford to go to our homes in Itanagar. That’s why, we are preparing for the midnight carol here,” said a staff member with the Arunachal House.
