Sonowal assures Bengalis of safety & security

TANGLA: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the Bengalis have a distinct and unique identity in the world platform and that they stand out for their rich culture,sharp-mind and philosophically strong attitude.

Addressing the open session of the 4th biennial conference of Udalguri district committee All Assam Bengali Youth Students Federation(AABYSF) at Tangla on Saturday, he said the  sensitive issues plaguing the Bengali community including the citizenship issue,D-voters issue,detention camp refugees among others are being looked into with utmost priority.  He said l the people should not feel insecured and marginalized because of these confronting issues.

According to him,  his government has been according equal importance to both Brahmaputra and Barak vallies in terms of better communication through road,rail and air connectivity along with
upcoming projects like medical and engineering colleges in Hailakandi.

In his speech PHE  and Food and Civil Supplies Minister,Rihon Diamary  said all communities in BTC are residing peacefully and the government has ensured  equal rights for every community residing in BTAD areas. He said that the road condition along with improvement of drainage system, supply of pure drinking water will be provided to the people of Tangla soon.
Lok Sabha MP from Mangaldoi ,Ramen Deka said about
430 Km of roads which needs repairment has been recognized and training programmes by KVK Udalguri has immensely helped unemployed youths by giving self-employment oppurtunities.

UDALGURI: The Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance of newspaper reports of the alleged incident of police atrocities on a doctor in Chirang district on Friday.  AHRC has issued a notice to the District Magistrate, Chirang  to cause an inquiry into the incident where media reports stated that the Officer-in-Charge of Amguri PS in Chirang District not only assaulted Dr. Madhurjya Kakati, in-charge of the Amteka Mini PHC but also made him to kneel down along with two  others for not wearing masks. TANGLA: A  devastating inferno gutted six houses in Pujakhola locality of Tangla town on Tuesday night at about 9 pm. Though the source of the fire has not been ascertained ,fire broke out followed by explosion of  six cylinders razing the properties worth lakhs  to the ground  within minutes. UDALGURI: A baby hog deer weighing about six kilogram was rescued by  Mithu Sarkar and Ankit Tanti, two activists of Green Valley Wild Life Protection Society, an NGO of Orongajuli tea estate area today at about 3.00 pm and handed over this to the Udalguri forest department in a healthy condition.
