1st Inter Udalguri District School Athletics Meet held

In  a bid to tap the budding potential of school students in athletics the 1st Inter-Udalguri District School Atheletics Meet-2018 was organized here at Tangla Stadium ground in Udalguri district on Saturday. The event organized by Tangla Sports Association was witnessed widespread participation of nearly 300 athletes from 25 different schools of Udalguri district. The sports competitions included Running Race,Long Jump,High Jump,Javelin,Discuss,Shotput Throw,Rally among others  were held for both Boys and Girls categories. The opening ceremony was attended by former Panery MLA,Kumud Das; Bhergaon SDO(C),Dithakananda Hazarika; District Sports Officer,Bhupen Rabha; Working President of Tangla Sports Association ,Khargeswar Boro; Internationally acclaimed Kabaddi referree,Nomal Rabha,journalist,Shajid Khan among others.From this meet, athletes will be selected for the state level athletics meet informed event secretary,Mukunda Sarma Baruah. The dignitaries also distributed the athletes with medals and certificates.

Anti-social elements have resurfaced in buisiness hub of Udalguri district Tangla. Reportedly on Wednesday night thiefs raided multiple shops at bus stand area including theft at a grocery store located at M.B Road belonging to  Rabindra Sarkar. Sensation prevails in Udalguri district following the recovery of three dead bodies in various locations. Reportedly Panery police recovered the dead body of one Gauranga Das (50) a resident of Babupara locality under Panery PS. The dead body was recovered from a urinal tank Monsibasti area. 63rd edition of Raas Mahotsav has got underway from November 14 on the premises of Raas field at Tangla Kukurakata in Tangla. Three girls who went missing from Dhansirighat of Orang under Udalguri district on Saturday have been rescued from Rangia railway station on Monday.
