In a bid to tap the budding potential of school students in
athletics the 1st Inter-
Udalguri District School Atheletics Meet-2018 was organized here at
Tangla Stadium ground in
Udalguri district on Saturday. The event organized by
Tangla Sports Association was witnessed widespread participation of nearly 300 athletes from 25 different schools of
Udalguri district. The
sports competitions included Running Race,Long Jump,High Jump,Javelin,Discuss,Shotput Throw,
Rally among others were held for both Boys and Girls categories. The opening ceremony was attended by former Panery MLA,Kumud

Sports Officer,Bhupen Rabha; Working

state level athletics meet informed event secretary,Mukunda Sarma Baruah. The dignitaries also distributed the athletes with medals and certificates.

The new school building of Arunodoi Academy school, one of the pioneering educational institutions of Tangla was inagurated by Jagadish Sarkar EM BTC on Wednesday. Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) EM Ganesh Kachari today inaugurated a model hospital at Bhergaon of Udalguri district .Talking to mediapersons, Kachari said that the BTC has not got their share of fund of Rs 12.19 per cent from State Government till now. “Due to this the BTC administration had to undergo hardships ,” he said. ATM conman named Manindra Basumatari (25) son of Mahikanta Basumatari a resident of Sijouguri village under Dhekiajuli PS was nabbed by Tangla police today.
