Sadhana Das passes away

Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

Green corridor in Guwahati, Delhi again!

Guwahati again organized a green corridor to facilitate a critically ailing baby to rush to New Delhi for better treatment drawing huge applause across the country on Sunday. Dispur Hospital conducts media clinic

The Dispur Hospital conducted the weekly evening OPD clinic at Guwahati Press Club on Saturday (2 September), where Dr Raj Dutta (medicine) offered free consultations to the participants. A low intensity 3.4 earthquake shook the north eastern state of Manipur  on Sunday striking no less panic for many people who feared the rerun of the 2015 jolt. Louis Berger scam: Court orders CBI probe

The Assam government is handing over the Louis Berger scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) acting on the Gauhati High Court order which received some crucial papers from CID pertaining to the multi crore which surfaced in 2015.  Sources told Assam Times that Dispur will write to the country’s premier investigation agency in a day or two asking for a thorough probe into the multi crore scam. A low intensity 3.0 earthquake jolted the north eastern state of Nagaland  on Friday striking panic button for many people who feared the rerun of the 2015 jolt in Manipur.  The earthquake, which originated in Zuhenboto struck the state at 8.41 in the morning which forced many  people people in the high rise buildings to come down to the open space.  There is, however, no report of any casuslty or loss of property.

Girl gangraped, battling with life at GMCH

Yet another incident of gangrape sends no less shock and anger across the state on Thursday. The victim is battling to survive at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital.  The incident took place in Tamulpur areas where the local residents rescued a girl from a house where she was gangraped on Wednesday night.  The villagers, further, caught one of the rapists to be thrashed before handing over to the police. The victim was initially rushed to a local hospital and then shifted to the GMCH.  A police team is interrogating the arrested rapist to extract the inputs of the whereabouts of other perpetrators.
